King of the Ring

Post by ahs3 »

This is a koth map with a large ring in the center, which is passable from under it. with shield flag in the spawn zones.

also the physics on the ring keep jumps to 6 units.

Any suggestions are welcome. :-)

give it a try

Map's where the tank is inside a circle have always intrigued me. DID you try it with ricochet? It sure would add another dimension to that map. _shotsKeepVerticalVelocity seemed like a good idea, with the passable KOTH zone. Maybe you could add ricochet, then adjust _shotSpeed and _shotRange so that shots only ricochet once.
Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.

Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.

That looks...intense. How long do you have to hold the center to win?

I tested it with ricochet, even with adjustments to _shotSpeed and _shotRange it seemed a little chaotic, and "where did that come from" feeling too it.

The hold time is 60 seconds but it is teamplay, so it takes a tremendous amount of teamwork to hold for 60 sec. and yes it is intense, but in a good way. I think its great fun, and very addictive. but im a little biased.

Yeah, I agree...Of course, skilled people could stay near the edge of the hill in order to survive, with all of the others providing "human shield" cover. I like how you kinda-sorta minimized the "how do i winn" factor that plagues n00bs whenever they visit a KOTH. (mainly because they are winning just by standing there on the center)
