Xtreme Paintball Challenge

Post by ahs3 » Sat Jan 31, 2009 12:06 am

I know there has been other paintball maps, ducatiwannabe and Abominable that I know of. However I saw a local paintball toury, and just had to make a map of it, I strayed a bit for bzflag sake. Also 7 players per team. I was quite inspired by the level of teamwork of these players.
I wish I would have remembered my camera to show you the original map.

Give it a try

well.. unfortunately due to the location, i cant play on that map.. however i was lucky enough to be able to get a peak before it was released and the game i had with ahs3 was both interesting and different.. i see some real potential for an excellent teamgame play there. to capture your oppenents flag requires decoys distractions and generally good team play.

welll done ahs3 :D :D

It's a great map, fun, fast exiting. Requires a fare amount of teamwork as Zac said, I have seen many improvements since the release. Another good job ahs3, well done.

hmmm ::: an untypical ahs3 map?!
but he always comes up with some good thinking behind it ::: this time is the teamplay!!!
the only critic ::: the fast bullets! makes dodging and "skill" playing very hard and gets a sniping touch!
but i'm sure there was some good think behind that too!!! good luck with it!!!

Thanks for the great comments :)

The reason for the fast bullets is that in paintball the bullets are fast as well, so instead of dodging you must seek cover, and use teamwork to distract, delay, outsmart, and generally out play the opposing teams defence. Dodging on a small scale until cover is found is pretty hard but can be done.

Once again thanks for the great comments.

I plan to possibly put up a version without super flags to see how it plays, what do you think?

i knew that there was some good thinking behind it ;-)
and it makes sense!

i guess most players like to grab a little flag here and there ;-)
but to keep it "realistic", i would try it without!!!

i know you gonna hate me for that ::: but how about to add more "boxes" to underline the cover-team-play idea???

I think having 1 or 2 super flags zoned in the middle of the map so people would have to go into battle to grab the limited flags.
