CTF Work in progress

Here is a sneak peak of my up coming map. It's a two team Red vs Blue CTF. It will have 3 shots, rico, jumping etc. I am going to texture the bases and add a few secrets to it. 1 3 shot geno located at the top center. Some good spot and a center area for ST to sneak around in, and the major game play area. There is also walls for players to camp on (multi level).
Any comments or ideas?

Ok. time to criticize :D . in the centre. the middle walls that have sorta crosses. well the way you've done them makes the map not symmetrical. maybe its just me but that could (maybe) affect game play?? but that's just me. maybe you meant it to be like that. and maybe im just picky :)

Yeah, I have gotten a few complains about those, it's been removed. Come to think of it, I should release that map.

Things to do:
1) Texture the map.
2) add zones
3) something cool for the middle
4) how does it look like MW2? The bases are in the corners for MW2 and here they are the whole map...

Deep Breath.
One thing I think maps need now are towers in the middle. MW2.3 is good, but all CTF maps are copies of it. if there were bases in the field, strategic points vital to invading the enemy base, it might make for some more interesting fights. So, towers, multi leveled w/ the same height as the walls. Mini forts with sniping places, stuff like that. I realize that this might be too much work, as it looks like you put a lot of work into this already. you don't have to use this, it's just my two cents.

Kasofa1, I hate to have to disagree so badly, but it's going to happen.

MW2.3 shouldn't, in my opinion, be a good example for anything. Classical MW was much better to me. I am tired of all this laser sniping garbage.

Also, the middle doesn't need any sort of tower. Maybe some sort of landmark, but certainly not a big freaking tower.

As far as what I think of this map... it seems a little big to me for some reason. I think corner bases would be pretty sweet in here, and maybe trim down the size of the map. I do like how the middle (except the teamwise-assymetrical X things) is designed. It is nice and spacious and should allow for some pretty sick CTF gameplay. Sadly, the whole Missile War inspiration is a huge detriment to CTF play, so I can see this map just stalemating a lot.

I'd love to see how this progresses, really. Definitely keep the middle pretty much as-is. I love the open look of it, it's got some great play potential. :D

TangenT, you keep misunderstanding me. I said that I don't want it to look like MW2.3, I said that I think that there should not be one "big freaking tower" but something like smaller bases not only in the middle, but to the left and right in the field, so instead of one big thing, it would be smaller bunkers scattered all over the field. Maybe not even towers, maybe just walls scattered at just the top of the jump height with one big wall in the middle, so's to cut off any of that laser sniping. I want to get one thing straight though; TangenT, read my posts more than one time, so that you might be able to see what I mean. So, in summary, Less MW2.3, more random-ish seeming things instead of towers.
I can get a positive score; I just choose not to.
