Overkill

Post by Tanx »

I'm giving a preview type map to overkill the city. It's kind of a hybrid between a city map, and a normal map.
almost half of the map area, is filled so far. the boxes on ground show the places where city type buildings are going to be constructed. I'm going to use this map, as a sort of a compass, guiding me through the rest of overkill the city.
The longest part of the creation of this map, and of overkill is designing every single building. Thankfully I'm done designing this map, but I still have a few more structures to finish in overkill the city.

Those are some nice spiral structures, you made them in a modeler right?

Not necessarily, Make an arc, spin it on it's side, then shear it sideways.
Very nice use of that modifer!
Lag makes me miss all of the good stuff.

mahem1 is right, I didn't use a modeler but, I didn't use shear either. Instead I used a mesh, calculated the points that would be necessary for this, and later I typed it.

I still have a more difficult one to make though, and unlike that one, which neatly goes around, this one collapses inward. I finished designing that one fairly recently (when I say design that includes calculating the points for these type of objects). It takes some graph paper to design some of these objects, and of course a calculator (don't tell the conservationists that I use lots of graph paper

and as long as I'm answering your question I might as well add some more visual aids.

Maybe you can put a linear physics that could carry you to the top.
It looks pretty hard/ impossible to strafe up.

if you're refering to a "mofo jump" that won't be necessary. A part of all the buildings floors are jumpthough, and visibly so. I don't have much left to do, perhaps 2-6 hours worth, plus fixing any bugs.
