Race track testing

Post by yarro »

I have a model and some screen shots of a race track test. Model is a bit hard to get into a world but I am making gradual process.
Some help I would like is how to make the shiny floor with reflection and how to set skidding and floor death, any good man pages for that?
Could be a rabbit chase, free for all or team. Another question is what editor loads bases best and lets you position them? BZWorkbench?
I'll release the model as a BZW when I get it tweaked right.

Sweet rabbit map. Try the map making section of the wiki, should have everything you need.

shiny floor is a server setting that is set in the config file (i think its mirror 1 or something like that... look it up on the wiki)
making the floor kill the player is easy... just make a very shot invisible box that covers the entire floor. Then apply the death physics setting to the box (look at the wiki)
skidding... not sure... if you mean sliding then that is done with physics as well. actual skidding may be impossible.(again see wiki)

For all of you who have asked what a hutty is, there is one as my avatar.

Here is a test bzf world. get a wings flag to test driving on the track. The problem is that the surface is a mesh so I'm not sure I can fix that although it seems to have worked better in the past. Any ideas just holler.
