Wings Forest Map Project

Post by BIYA »

A dreamed inspired map...

Might soon have Trees, bushes, 2 temples for bases, flowers maybe, and I guess we are gonna have nests? Im not sure exactly :)

I need a list of people that are willing and capable to contribute some time and effort into this map. Don't be like "The faster the better" try and make some nice models and thoughts... Take your time...

I have the Temples made already... Trying to go with the Rain Forest theme... ;)

i'll see what i can do, though i'm not that experienced with wings, i'll give it a shot. It will give me time to learn :)

I found some trees - http://elite.tybox.net/includes/landscape.inc they look like they are louman's ones, so better ask him.

LouMan says OK on using his trees

Post by capt_crunch »

I can't thank everyone enough for taking interest in this idea.

I posted to the original thread saying that LouMan doesn't have time to personally help, but we can use his tree objects. Apparently they're easy to extract for someone who has experience with bzflag mapping.

BIYA, those ideas sound great. I was originally thinking nests to follow the birds analogy, but the Amazon rainforest idea with templese is extremely cool. Nests wouldn't look as cool on a temple as in a tree, of course. :)

Inferno, try to find out a way to make a bush... Take your time no rush as I said.

Spazzy, you said you had a program that had a tree thingy. I would much rather use a different tree then louman's. Not saying that they are not good enough, im saying is that I think it would have alittle more Eye-Candy if we had more detail trees... Unless ya'll really want to use his :). If you find the program... then try and make like 5 different sized trees, size as in Height, Width, and more of less branches ;)

Eagle, can you try and make the ground level for the map if you know what I mean. Just some flat ground and have a really nice, large, and deep revine. Like a trench but huge and has water at the bottom.

If the ground is made I can start to set up where everything is going to be. I'm planning on having bridges crossing the Trench to get to the other side. Drivethrough bushes, and trees will be added once everything is finshed.

ty, i will try my best.

some ideas:

1. it would be cool it there were path going through the trees maybe
2. when you fall in water you die of course
3. trees with alot of detail. the trees would have to have alot of detail if they are going to be big, are you wanting big trees or normal loumans size ones?
4. if they are pretty big trees it would be cool it they had drive through leaves and branches to land on.
again i will try to make the ground :)

If it's okay with Inferno eagle :)... I can do it if you want... Also yall can work together perhaps? Cause I know bushes are alittle tricky to make.

Red, you can set up the bzedit map? with the randomly placed boxes and such ;)... Unless im missing somthing.

Try not to make the top round and like make branches.I would try making it in wings3D. I like the program for making those kind of stuff. Also making trees in it would be great to. Just move the vertices around a lot to make branches and you have a bush or tree.

Post by Red Cobra »

I would go with wings. First of all its easier, second, it has more detail, third it just better. I dont want to tell you what to do I am just giving you suggestions.
