Paintball Field

Post by Sharpshooter »

I moddled a speedball field in Wings, still gotta put in bases, CTF, and putting in textures for the bunkers. This will be done soon. I will give out the text version when I'm done. Heres a screenshot of it in Wings.

Wow, it looks fun. Sorta like 1.x with 2.0 applied objects. :)

I do have some problems though, when I put it up on my server, the whole thing was like half the size of the tank, so I need to know how to make the whole thing bigger, I remember it had something to do with makeing "groups" for the meshes, but if I do that, will it make every object bigger, or will it act like everything is one object, and the size ratio will stay the same? Heres the .bzw file.

And also another question, I want to make it CTF, but I don't want it to be like the normal CTF, if it's possible, can the flags of both opposing teams both be in the middle of the map, or are they not adjustable?

Everything is huge when I do a server with it!
try scaling it down in the modeler.
I'm thinking I need a better sig than this...

It is? Hmm when I did it, it was VERY small.. And I dont know if I want to scale it down in the moddler, because then I will have to export it to bzw, and restart all of the texturing and crap I did. Is there another way, scaling it bigger/smaller in textedit?

Try this:

define groupname

Code: Select all

insert-your-code
enddef

group groupname
position 0 0 0
size 10 10 10
end

Mess around with the size until you get it like you want...

When exporting to BZW, click the little box-shaped thing in the menu (it's on the very right side of BZW...). You can change export scale there, along with flipping the Y and Z axes (in Wings3d Y points up, but in BZFlag Z points up)

Ok everything should be done, except some "-set" stuff, all the textures are applied, and I changed the size with the "group". So heres the file, please test it out, and if it's too big/small, it should be adjustable in the last few lines of the file, where it says "size".

Got it to the size I want it, all I need to do now is add bases, and scale down the map's diameter, any chance you can make it rectangular? And for the CTF flags, how would I move them to where I want to?

Read the man page.
Put flags where you like by using zones.
To have a non-square map, use noWalls and create your own walls and spawn zones.

Looks sick, man!
It would be sweet if you could put in a snake though...
Too bad we can't lean in tanks.

Heres a picture of it running on my server, as you can see the outer wall is way too big, and I need to add bases...

I'm only using it for testing on my private server, when it's finished, I will need someone else to host it...
