3 legged box

Post by ahs3 »

I made this with wings3d, it is pretty fun, the tank sticks to the side like a pyr. It is under the GPL so use it however you like.

Here is some Screenshots:

Its pretty interesting. I was trying the map this morning. But why do you stick to the side when you jump against it? It seems to be at a slight angle...

It looks nice. Was that slight angle intentionally put there, or is it some sort of bug that has been plaguing you ever since you created it?

The fact that tanks stick to the sides improves the playability immensely. You can do so many tricks to confuse and evade other people...

Yes it was intentional, to add game play, adds another angle to the game. (pardon the pun)

you really should look into fixing the UV coordinates ( define them in the mesh) so they don't shear on each triangle.

Thanks JeffM, I'll give that a try.

License

Would you mind releasing this under a more liberal license? (ideally CC by-sa, or public domain.) For such a small construction there isn't much value to you in using GPL, and it's a bit of a nuisance to others wishing to incorporate it in their maps. If you really want to use GPL, there's a lot more you have to do - just saying "it's GPL" isn't enough. It needs an extended copyright notice and a copy of the license, among other things. See http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html . As it is now you have little chance at defending your copyright if you wanted to. Still, I'm not about to jack it without permission.

It's me who's using this in my map, and I want to give you proper credit and anything else you want; if you wish to leave it as GPL, you need to post a link to the license text-- http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt. Please consider a CreativeCommonhs license (http://creativecommons.org/license/) or a CC0 license (http://labs.creativecommons.org/license/zero) http://labs.creativecommons.org/licenses/zero/1.0/[/url]
