3D object website

Here is a website with many cool looking 3D resources. Some may be too large for bzflag use.

Buildings: http://www.reinerstilesets.de/3d-grafiken/3d-buildings/
Characters: http://www.reinerstilesets.de/3d-grafiken/3d-buildings/
Hi-Poly: http://www.reinerstilesets.de/3d-grafiken/3d-high-poly/
Misc: http://www.reinerstilesets.de/3d-grafiken/3d-sonstiges/
Plants: http://www.reinerstilesets.de/3d-grafiken/3d-plants/

Here is the license for their use*: http://www.reinerstilesets.de/lizenz/

*: it is a VERY lenient license. He says it is freeware and that you can use it for non-commercial and commercial games. ***But it may be a good idea to read it before use***

Very low polygon counts!
Get his name in the welcome message, or something.

Note that the textures might not be allowed on our image since since it's not an "OSI Approved" license, but I'd have to check further. Also not sure if our texture hosting site would violate their license since they mention re-hosting the files.
Even when the Graphics and meshes are freeware, it doesn´t mean that you can upload my raw graphics and meshes to your page, sell them or do something else with it.

Blast, did you ever come to a conclusion about their mesh licenses? The textures would be great too, but it sounds like there are some issues hiding there. I suppose we could just ask the site owner to clarify things vis-a-vis BZFlag.

The meshes would most likely be acceptable. They are NOT hosted by a project provided service, they are hosted by the server owner.
The document there does clearly state that once you 'make something' with his data, you own it. That means you can re-license it.
What he doesn't want is you making a 3d model website where you give away (or sell) his work. He wants you to use it.

Including the mesh data into a map would count as "use" since you are putting it in a game.

Blast's concern with images is that our image hosting site does not "use" the artwork, it simply rehosts them, and that could be seen as conflicting with his site. His license is kind of crapy and not clear about what rights are granted.

The best thing to do would be to modify every thing you get form them, thus executing the "if you change it you own it" clause, and then submitintg it all under your own license, like CCSA, or CC0
