The Cumulus

Post by AlliedArmour »

This is the AA Cumulus. Another modern car. My first attempt at BZModelling was really junky and dreadful(to me) as demonstrated by "My Car". This is my second try. I used the Dodge Stratus Sedan for a template which explains my cars name.

Answer to "My Car" poll: It was made on Caligari gameSpace Light.

BTW: The MicroStar International is a motherboard. The poll was mainly a joke.

Nope! not Wings(I don't like it at all - even prefer Blender). I use Caligari gameSpace Light(free).

Amazing! Someone who prefers Blender to Wings! I never thought I'd see the day... Personally, though, I find Wings to be incredibly easy, in a good way. This gameSpace Light sounds interesting. I think I'll look into that... : )

I though someone would comment on my different tastes about Wings :D . Do look into gsL - it's a Good Program(commercial). You will need a converter though. I save as .X and convert that to BZW using a program my brother is making. I've used the Caligari line from ages ago when I found trueSpace 5 trial on a disk.

Well - I really didn't like my first car! So I built another(learning a lot about my modeller). And I've made 3 tanks(don't know how good you'd call them). I can post them if you want.

I too prefer Blender to Wings for several reasons: The model just "looks" better when I am working on it in Blender, and I have yet to be able to find an easy way to "grab" the work plane and rotate the whole thing the way you can in Blender (I know it's possible, but I have to run Wings on a Windows box and I haven't figured out how to configure the mouse to do this...why bother when Blender lets you do it without having to futz about?). I also figure that if I am going to learn a 3d program, might as well use one that does more than just model stuff. One of these days I want to take a crack at doing some animation.
Respectfully,
I Beg to Remain,
Cordially Yours,
Regards....

I find Blender easier to use and more powerful. But neither of them equals the power and ease of use that gsL has.
