Do Perl and BZFlag mix?

I was just wondering if it where possible to write a plug-in, in Perl?

This could probably be answerd in one simple reply.

Only if one made a plugin which loads and interprets the Perl. This is similar in concept to the Python plugin (now unmaintained).

If you have a knowledge of C++, go for it! However, you'd need to...

1. Read "perlembed", and embed perl into the plugin.
2. Create an interface for perl plugins to conform to.
3. Write a good amount of XS code to expose the BZFS API.

If you want it to be GOOD, however, you'd need to do a lot more work. Notify me if somebody pulls this off.
