LowGrav

I suspect this is a bit much, but is there any way to create a plugin that:

A: Finds player Z coord
B: Compares it to a certain Z coord
C: Reduces gravity if player Z coord is lower than coord specified

2.0 based protocol, by limitation, can not change player physics dynamically.

I do not know if this has been implemented in 2.99, but I know a lot of per-player type modification work has been done (or planned).

The only thing one could do is change gravity for all players at that exact instant (but, as I remember back in the day playing around with gravity variables, you can affect gravity while in mid-jump, you'd have to also have the gravity stay in effect until you no longer want that player affected, such as falling to the ground).

The next version of BZFlag will have a Low Gravity flag, if that's of interest.

As for making gravity different in different areas, can't really do that, not even in 2.99.x (which is the development version for 3.0.0). That kind of thing has been discussed, but that's as far as it got.
