Description: allows anyone to choose their flag (from the ones available)
Min Version: 2.0.8
Files: Source is below (hopefully linux build will follow when I've fixed my problems)
To select your flag use the '/cf' command followed by its abbreviation.
e.g. /cf L
will select Laser
Have fun!

No, plug-ins are serverside. The server owner would be the one loading the plugin, not you. Meaning in order for you to use this feature the server would have to explicitly allow it.A Distraction wrote:Let me get this straight. Intalling the plug-in will me to obtain any flag allowed at a certain map just by typing in this command? If so, is that ethical?
My thoughts exactlySaber wrote:Why not just allowing everyone to use the flag give command?
In other words, there is a command already native to BZFlag that approximates this plugin. Permissions to the '/flag give' command are controlled by the group permissions file on the server. It is controlled by the 'flagMaster' permission. The one thing that I see this plugin would be good for is that it does not allow the user to use '/flag take' on other players. 'flagMaster' allows the use of both '/flag give' and '/flag take', which may not be the desired functionality. It does not allow you to give permissions to one without the other.Tropican8 wrote:My thoughts exactlySaber wrote:Why not just allowing everyone to use the flag give command?

Clarification
Before I make my server public... would it be classed as cheating?
My arguments that it is not, is that its applicable to all players

Re: Clarification
How could it be cheating if it's your server? Generally you can allow anything on your own server as long as it doesn't do something bad to the listserver, offend people who might be browsing the listserver, or promote unfair clientmods.Elderberry Schmuck wrote:Before I make my server public... would it be classed as cheating?

Arg! Silly me. I should have known this was the case. Sorry.Tropican8 wrote:No, plug-ins are serverside. The server owner would be the one loading the plugin, not you. I've seen a couple servers with this already, BEFORE the release of this plugin.
I think that these servers will be unusually unpopular
BECAUSE: everybody has the power to manipulate other people
ex: player A grabs GM. player B has ST, player A see's player B and gives him useless.
Too much power for players to enjoy themselves

1. This chooseFlag plugin seems to only allow you to give yourself a flag, thus it would not enable you to give others flags of your choice and is therefore different to /flag give.
2. What does shockWaveDeath have to do with chooseFlag?
