Attachments are here!

Post by Fiberchunks »

All,
I just finished the attachment mod, and it seems to work quite nicely. Currently, the only allowable attachments are .txt and image files.

The size limits are set (for now) to 256 Kb. So please don't ask me why you can't attach something larger than that.

Please feel free to test it out, and please let me know if there's anything (like specific extensions), you'd like to allow.

Also, note that I would _really_ prefer it, if you attached enormous images, instead of inlining them. This would keep the pages nicely formatted, and eliminate the irritating horiz scroll bar that appears if the frame is too large for the window.

Thanks much - I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to post any questions about it in the 'board issues forum.' Note also that the FAQ link at the top of the page has an 'attachments' section, so please do read that first.

Thanks
Peace

And I would like to add, that please keep the atachements on topic, and tastefull. We do reserve the right to remove any atachement we find not appropriate and/or illegal ( mp3s and stuff ). Tho I don't think we will have that problem.

Thanks.

points / money is on my TODO list, along with an RPG shop mod. They take a little while, and I wanna make sure these mods are functioning correctly first.

Plus, the money / rpg mods, while neat, are essentially useless ;)

But yes, there is a plan for rpg / money mods. Be patient - it will come.

think of it this way: you can get money, or points, and buy stuff in the shop.

For bzflag specific stuff (although it's utterly useless), I was thinking of like:
thick armor, greater shot count, higher accuracy, a hit points type of system, and damage points (ala d&d), etc.

Haven't really looked at it indepth, or thought about it too deeply, cause the mods to do it are rather large (like the attachment mod), and complex.

We'll see how it turns out ;)

Peace
