server windows xp

Need help seting up a server, or have a question on how to run one? This is the place.

server windows xp

trying to set up server using cable. can host game through bzflag. it works. tried setting up server through command line and config file. it starts to run but errors out while trying to links to server list. anyone have a good config file. would like a copy and info on what i would need to change to make it mine. no richocet please.

this is the error that comes up in command box -

Queuing add message to list server
file transfer terminated with error from libcurl 28 :
Operation too slow. less than 1024 bytes/sec transfered the last 10 seconds


i believe i am up and running, thanks to all who helped.



dont believe i have a router problem.

thanks for your help. i do have router problem. can start a server from bzflag and play but no one can get in if i start from command line. i have to figure out how to get the router to let my command line request get out.

thanks for your imput. any router people out there who can help.
did set port forwarding but i must be missing something.

If I recall correctly, this isn't a problem - all windows BZ servers show this message - did you check in the server list to see if it realy isn't there? Mine says the same thing, and it shows up just fine.

that means you didn't open up port 5154, or whatever port you're using for the server, in your router.

You may have too many flags. Windows chokes on too many flags and will refuse connections.

Please post your config/map area that deals with flags.

Also, your internal IP address might have changed. Don't rely on DHCP if you want to run a server.
