Server Testing Programs

Post by Delta Lead »

I KNow there are many ways to test a server. Im looking for a program that let you test it w/o typing in all the command line stuff and lets you use jumping and flags. I need a quick and easy way. Is there anything like it?

Use blasts BZ launcher for windows. It's very handy and cool.

Thanks Blast for the software By the way! :)

If you really are going to be making maps pretty consistently, I would suggest you learn how to run a map through the command line.

Then they can run my program using the Mono Project. I haven't tested it too much, and it might need some tweaks and fixes to get it working. I was able to build and run it on Linux recently. I had to install some extras to get it to work, but it wasn't too hard (this was on Ubuntu 7.10). This was also building from the SVN code. The tool is in the tools/ directory of the BZFlag source code in trunk.

Regarding the error, make sure you have the right .NET framework installed (The correct one can be found on the original thread). That error does sound different than ones I've encountered, so it might just be a bug in my program. When do you get that error message? Is it after the application is already running?

When you try to install what? My application does not have an installer. Be specific.

Blast said be more specific. Not restate what you already said.

When does this happen? When you try to run blast's app? When you try to run the .NET framework? When you try to install the .NET framework?

When i click on the link he gives it asks me if i want to run or save the application. I click run. Then a window pops up that says,

"Application has generated and exception that COULD NOT BE HANDLED.

Process id=0ax74 (2676), Thread id=0x83c (2108). "

I am clicking on this link

You don't run it from that link... right click on it and save it to your system. Make sure you have the correct version of .NET (v1.1) loaded on your machine (from Microsoft). Links to the .NET redistributables are in blast's first post in the thread referenced above. Then it will run.
