Tanks can't kill

Post by Sniper752 »

So every so often I have to restart my servers so tanks can kill each other. (Hosting.BZAddict.net:5242 (and 5243))
Anyone know what the problem is? It gets rather annoying.

Are you frequently loading and unloading plugins or messing with the /set command?

When I reset the server, i set mirror, skyColor, rain (density, texture) pretty much every time. Do I just need to do it less frequently? And I haven't loaded any plugins (not that experienced yet ;) )

I have seen issues with loading the same plug-in multiple times. Can't remember exactly what the issue was, but only that it would require a server reset. The issue with /set is that there is not really great error checking on the values provided. So setting and incorrect value or conflicting values can have weird effects on a server, including not being able to shoot anyone.

You can set BZDB vars directly in the configuration file so that you don't have to set them manually every time.

I would do that, but I need to know how to do that in my map file, since I can't upload a conf file to bzaddict. I know for options, i can put it in like so:

Code: Select all

options
#options here
end
do i put the /set command in there too, or is there another header i need to use?

The -set option of bzfs will do what you need.
