That's just because you are using BZEdit. BZEdit can only use objects from BZFlag 1.7. It is not up to date with the current BZW specifications. For that, you need blender, the blender plugin, and a text editor. (and lots of patience). Or another modeler and modeltool to convert an OBJ to BZW. Go look at Louman's maps for some examples of what BZW is capable of.WarPig wrote:yeah it is, i find bzw quite easy to use! but its very limited!! which sucks
I have heard JeffM2501 state several times that BZEdit will never be updated to make 2.0 maps. Blender is a cross-platform tool, is already done, and an exporter to BZW files has already been written. Below is an excert from #bzflag on IRC from last week, IIRC.
[13:26] JeffM2501: hmm maybe I should do another release of bzedit that just brings up a big dialog when you start that explains that it dosn't suport any 2.0 features.
[13:27] donny_baker: maybe it should just download blender and open the tutorials web site
[13:27] JeffM2501: heh
[13:27] JeffM2501: that would rock
