cant join my own server :(

Hi

right now I have 3 servers running

one on port 5515 runing ffa map
one on port 6000 running eaglenest map

and a third on port 7000 running a map called Castle by LT.D

If I run the first 2, I can join either one

but the third on port 7000 (Castle) i cannot join at all..the client hangs

the server version is reproted as BZFS107e its the latest from cvs with the shot limit patch.

I cannot connect from my other computer either, but all three servers have had outside players join with no problems.

The operating system is Debian and its behind a linksys firewall with ports
5155-5157, 6000-6002, 7000-7002 forwarded TCP & UDP to the serving computer

does anyone know what causes this?

ahh, he told me it worked fine on that server with other maps. So it's pobably not the map.

if you change the ports does it work? there may be some conficlt with those ports localy, maybe some other service that is on all your systems that is using it up.

all the 1.7e->g's return 107e as the server protocol version since that's what they are compatable back too.

i tried it with -p 9000 -pr 9001 and it still didnt work, whats the command to list all the ports in use in linux?

You can use either lsof (which lists all open file handles per application which includes sockets) or netstat (which lists all sockets). For the latter, the -a and -p options could be of interest.

i believe:

netstat -a but man/info netstat to check

i'll check some things on my servers to see if there is something there.......assuming you are still having the problem......

i assume you are familar enough with linux to check the host.allow and host.deny files.........

I know this might be a bit late, but did you try the default ports on that one p -5155 -pr 5156?
