Hi hophead, welcome to the community! :-) Hope to meet you on a server somewhere soon.

Don't get discouraged if you run into really good players... BZFlag takes a moment to learn, but definitely a lifetime to master. :-)

Hey hophead

I was versing you at hepcat and you weren't to bad, your dodging wasn't to bad neither :) It was like me, you and about 4 others. If I'd had known you were new I'd have gone easier on you :P

Welcome! Hope to see you again soon!

Hope you stay with the game. We all like having new players. Don't worry though, I'm sure that if you don't give up you'll get much better.

I never make stupid mistakes. Only very, very clever ones.

Hello , you seem nice , incase you are wondering the "@" next to someones name means they're a boss , they keep the place good. If you ever want any help on ANTHING then just pm me you can do that cliking on the pm botton beeath this message , to check you pm's all you need to do os do the the private massages botton at the top of this page. I hope you enjoy your self. A way i found to get good is play on the maps where there arnt so many people at first , then work your way up to the maps where there are lots.

Best regards , PETER .

A tip for Hepcat is to have your radar full screened. As you don't need to worry about jumpers, or GM's | ST etc ;)

Also, hophead, the extreme radar fanatics should generally be ignored. You'll show them, some day. :P

i wouldnt say that but some servers are more fun then challengeing and some are good for starting a really good hard map is gmwar (tadd.dyndns.org port 5154) and some other tadd maps or hosted by him

This is slightly off topic

im sorry if this offends you but i think the only reason you are telling us about that map is because your dad made that.

I agree. Jack, you need to stop advertising GM War. Really. We know about it. Yeah, it's great fun to play, if there are people there... but you give it more attention than it needs (deserves isn't the right word, because it really is a well done map). However, it is not the only one. All maps have their own plusses.

LouMan's maps are artistic. Pillbox-style maps are extremely playable and simple. The maps I make, I try to make them different than other maps.

So I guess my advice to a new player would be to browse many servers and pick out a few that you like. If you regularly go there, others may follow.

Oh, and don't advertise at every possible chance for certain maps. It's rather annoying, and it doesn't make you look very fun.

(i meant to quote jack but i dont know how) ,

"i wouldnt say that but some servers are more fun then challengeing and some are good for starting a really good hard map is gmwar (tadd.dyndns.org port 5154) and some other tadd maps or hosted by him" ,

GMWar isnt realy hard , all you need is a good camping spot (kinda lame) and a GM flag (not to hard to find) ,

quoting is simple

example
[quote{equal sign}"Name"]Message[/quote]

now with "=" added
Name wrote:Message
And about Gmwar, it's not very popular so being the only 1 there, isn't much fun :P

best starting servers IMHO are:
  • *Badgerkings- For the feal of FFA
*Hepcat- For the feal of Radar Dodging, no jumping etc.
*Boxy Wars- Well not so much now, but that was a good starting server too.

*MoFo- Is played at a faster pace, bigger SW etc., so beginning there, you may struggle. It's alot of fun though once your aware of everything.
