yes you can....
first when you go to save the map (go to my computer, then c: or harddirve... then click program files... then click bzflag 2.0.10 { or 2.0.8}
then save it...) like this.... FILENAME.bzw
Next after yove saved it go to the start menu.. click on run...then type "cmd".. hit enter... a black box shows up.... next in the black box type (EXACTLY!!EVEN SPACES WHERE I TELL YOU)
cd c:\program files\bzlfag2.0.10 (dont type this but...or 2.0.8 wahtever you run) hit enter... then type in
bzfs -world "FILENAME.bzw" with the qoutes... and replace FILENAME with .. the file name.. then hit enter...
next start up bzflag go to the page where it has your username and stuff and where it says sever type in Localhost and where it says port type in 5154
NOTE: do not close the command prompt (the black box) or you will have to everything over again...
reply back with questions...[/b]

it didn't work
I don't know why, but it didn't work, and also, the fastest way to access the command prompt is in the accessories folder in program files

The process that was described IS a server. Once you do that stuff with the command prompt, you are hosting a local, private server.
Don't worry, people from outside can't join.
Exactly which phase of this process didn't work? Make sure you spelled things correctly, etc.
