i just wanna know about setting up a server. i found a page/website on this thing before but i cant find it again. what are the things i could include in the conf and what they do and what should be the default is. (i.e. -a ## ##, ms, etc.)

On linux type "man bzfs" or on Windows, access the start menu folder for BZFlag, and look for the bzfs manual under the "Doc" directory. Keep in mind that running a server is not trivial.
