Hi all,

Thank you for all the kind words... :D

Those mountains are from the hi-res texture version released some time ago for BZFlag 1.x. All the textures (as far as I know) are now hi-res in 2.0 except the mountains.

old topic i know... but this is so unbelievably beautiful i wanted to bring it to your attention. if you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and just roam around and try to discover everything in this fairy-tale world. i was lucky to have melissa, a very young bz player as my guide. :)

I'm going to dust off and host this map for awhile. It is awesome.
The way it's all done without a texture download is pretty cool. A lot of people could learn from that, me included.

I'll be putting it at bzflag.planet-mofo.com, port 4080.

Yeah, i know about the version 3.9 version of this map from another post. I'll be using that one. gimme a couple days.
Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.

Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.

YES!!!!!!!!! This was the very first map I played on when I started playing BZFlag back in '05 and I've always absolutely loved it. Definitely gonna jump back onto it!!

Once I've gotten a little sleep first...
And the lesson for tonight is:

Never underestimate the ability of a newb to expect instant success and cry "cheat!" when they don't get it. Don't hate the newb, just give them plenty of learning opportunities. ;)
