rgb files

Post by jbennyh »

I've been hacking the rbg files. Can anyone tell me the transparency color? I am converting them to bmp or jpg, making the changes and converting them back.

there is no "transperancy color" they use a full alpha channel, change them to a format that supports alpha ( bmp, and jpeg do not), like PNG or TGA.

The SGI/RGB file format uses a separate alpha channel, not a transparency color. This lets you blend the transparency (make areas semitransparent) rather than having the whole on/off thing going.

[edit]Heh, looks like I'm a bit redundant here...had to go look it up and make sure and patlabor goes and beats me to it...[/edit]

Thanks. We just got the 1.9.8 version, which uses png so it's not an issue. We had been playing rabbit in 6.26.
