Server Locations

Post by Zac »

please, i would like to know the locations of certain servers

1purplepanzer.hopto.org: are they all hosted from same place.
valentino.

also are there any suggestions for servers that would be suitable for west australian players.
i already know of manetheran, valentino.hepcat, and mari's kamikaze airstripe to have quite decent lag.
Badgerking is ok and missilewars is about 320ms, just above the kick.
but i dont really know of any others.
and just so you know i cant just join the server and check the lag. its not that simple

Hmm, I thought the Mofo box was in Cleveland, Ohio... I could be wrong (I'm only the backup linux admin ;P)

Do a google search for locate ip. You'll find a bunch of tools that let you put in an IP address, and give you a general location. One of the websites has me about 1500 miles away in Kansas, but the rest were within 50 miles of where I'm located. Good enough for this purpose.

...without too much house advertising:
http://bzflag.redjacket.ws/serverlist or http://bzstats.strayer.de/servers/online

Both sites list the servers' locations which are more or less accurate. For the bzstats I'm using data from maxmind.com. If needed (on request) I could also add more detailed information in the single server view (if available).
