Wouldnt it be cool if BZFlag gave you the option of 1st person (current status) or 3rd person (seeing your own tank)? This could help playstyles and tactics!

Window vision
Re: Window vision
Like the following mode in observer? I think it would be disorienting and hard to aim. You could also kinda see ST sneaking up to you (when they're really close to you)

Re: Window vision
You are correct, but suppose you are a GU player. Seeing your tank can make it easier to dodge.
If you dont play GU, then simply stay in 1st person.
And yes like following as an obs.

Re: Window vision
3.0 will have this as an option, but as soon as you go "outside" your tank the view rules change to the same as they do for radar, not the in tank display. This is to prevent just what you suggest, moving the camera to get an advantage on ST people.

change camera view angle but it also changes the radar.
What I think you meant was the camera stays in one position (static) so you can't rotate the camera viewing angle to look behind you while your 1) stationary 2) driving.

Re: Window vision
no, it changes the CAMERA view to act like the radar only in what is drawn, not how it is drawn. Basically if you would normaly see something (shot or tank) from inside the tank but not on radar, and you move your 3d view outside the tank, you won't see that thing from outside the tank ether. It's so that you can't see stealthed people sneaking up behind you in the 3d view by simply moving your camera around.
Using the third person view, gives you the disadvantage of not being able to see ST tanks anywhere, it's your tradeoff for the larger view.

Re: Window vision
That would be a nice new feature in 3.0! (if it ever comes out)
