My first map

Post by lep »

BZ,

I have decided to take on the challenge of map making. I currently have a map called Roll-Off-The-Top CTF

The center piece has two planks, one for each base. Rolling off the color-coded plank lands you on that base perfectly. However, I am trying to make the center more... "complicated."

I will try my best to post some screenshots, but you may have to wait until it is hosted. Again, I'll try my best...

Thanks,
LittleLep

Haha PG you underestimate me :D

I am fully capable of running a private server and taking screenies :P

The problem is finding time. Being involved in school Civil War projects eats my time. But again, Ill try my best!

Here is a little sneak-peak of my new map. I think I over-did the colors, but you tell me.

Criticism is not really being looked out for, but suggestions are aprreciated!!

Looks good LL. When you put in flags, if your gonna do it, dont put in many and then i think it would be an excellant map. :)

Add more stuff, or make a 1 shot laser/ no laser. It's good, but open. add some pyramids towers (but not to tall) some cool buildings, walls, camping spots, etc. Look at past maps in the map release section, look at what made them popular. but don't copy.
I have recently made a map that looks like Boxy War apparently, but I've never been on Boxy War for longer than 15 seconds when it was empty :?

Update

The first version of my Off The Top CTF is up at bzfmaps.net:6012 thanks to allejo and nn.

However, I need ideas on things to put on the sides of bases. GM towers are too powerful. That has been excluded.

I feel that your suggestions are important because you play the map to your liking. Help?

It's cool, reminds me of Christmas. I noticed that the cones above the bases are opposite the team color
EX: red base green cone, green base red cone

For GM you can add shot limits and reduce/increase the turn angle of it

Code: Select all

options
-sl gm 10
end
That will give 10 shot limit to GM
