Jumpin' Beans! - CTF

Post by Bambino »

This is my latest map, it's a 2 team CTF - Red Vs Blue.
It's has 2 jumpers in each corner to launch you into the other corners.
The capping can get very fast if you don't defend your base. I have

Code: Select all

zoneflag SW 2
 zoneflag SB 5
 zonflag ST 5
 zoneflag L 5
 zoneflag GM 5
 zoneflag CL 5
in the corners so you can do suicide missions dive-bombing the opponents base!
In the middle of the map is a jumper to launch you up to the slippery geno platform where you can't jump while at the platform! Evil, I know :P
There's also some platforms to take you straight to the geno.
And a nice big pyramid with a platform in the corners to GM camp with.

Time for comments...

Very well done Positive Gravity. Physics and world weapons will play a big part in Jumpin' Beans! I like the layout of the map including the middle. Good idea with the physics attaching it to the Genocide platform. There are going to be some fierce battles for it. Overall, well done!

ps. is this the map we were discussing?

Wow, looks pretty well organized. Cant wait to play on your map. Is this gonna be hosted by wtwrp? Also, is this the map you were working on and said youm haven't released yet?

No, bzfmaps.net - BZAgency wants a map from me.

PG, the level of difficulty this map plays out might make it a popular one. I think that players will be drawn to difficulty... and geno

Yeah, if you looked at the zone codes I showed it has the "attack" flags and the "counter" flags
EX: CL for L ST for GM
If a GM camper gets onto the corner pyramid, it's fairly easy to kill him - just grab a SW for a corner and fly into the base and blast him out.
I may have to tone down the slippery surface on the geno platform because I want players to grab it fairly quickly but I want them to work for it.

That slippery statement makes perfect sense. If geno is too hard to reach, or it takes too long, campers can easily wipe him out. You were correct. But they do need to work for it.

Bzfmaps is a good map hosting place. There will probably be one camping spot that will be powerful though. Just will take some time to find it...

There is one, but I'm not tellin' :P

Also, I made the counter/attack flags easy to get because campers shouldn't stay long.
The corner pyramid is a good spot for GM because you can
1) Watch and look out for ST.
2) Kill the incoming geno.
3) SW camp on the pyramid.
4) Be creative.
