Mac OS X Lag/Jitter/Packetloss problems

Post by Seyla »

I have a brand-new Macbook, and I just started having these lag/jitter/packetloss problems. My two brothers also play, frequently at the same time as me. You think would have something to do with it? I've never had these problems before.

if you are using wireless networking that can add lag and packetloss.

If you are make sure your wireless access point has the latest firmware,

Before touching anything like access-point-firmware or wireless-drivers you could simply first make sure whether your wireless connection is actually the issue:
Just connect your macbook via cable instead wireless, and check whether the situation did improve.

Wireless itself is bad, I'm on an iMac with the wireless less than a metre away and it's 68% strength, so I have ethernet to it.
