A couple days ago i logged onto BzFlag and i noticed something weird. I couldnt talk. I couldnt read other peoples conversations or server warnings at the top of the screen. I tried re-installing the program, and it didnt do anything. This is very odd and has never happened before. Other people can talk, but i cant.

Is it on one server or all servers?

yeah, if youve only tried this on one server, then you may not be allowed to talk for some reason. some servers dont allow unregistered users to talk, so if you werent using your registered username, that could be the issue. but if you are using a registered callsign, and this happenes repeatedly on multiple servers, then you have an issue...
or maybe you were universally silenced, which is an issue that i will not meddle in

im not a realy good tech guy but u might want to try reinstalling the game

The problem is not something that would be solved by compiling a new client or reinstalling. Some servers require you to be in a group to be able to spawn or talk (for instance, the GU League servers require this).
Another issue could be if you silenced everyone. I'm not sure, but that might even make your own text hide. If that was the case, I think it should show a message in the panel when you start the client.

yes, iv "email talkd" with him in the email slot and that it is on every server, so theres the answer to that question

Does he see other people's messages? If not, then it sounds like he has everyone silenced in his client. If that's the case, he should see a "Silenced All Msgs" message when he starts the client. It will be right above the Message Of The Day. If that shows up, then join a server, hit 'k', type * and hit enter.
If that doesn't fix it or that isn't the problem, then we need more information.

Not really. It even silences yourself and messages from the server.

It happens on all servers, i've tried unsilencing everything... many people have asked if i can talk... so i know everyone can talk. I'm getting desperate here.
