Our local school has many projectors mounted on top of the wall in not just computer labs but many classrooms. It'd be funny to hack into all of them and display me playing BZFLag... :)

Or we could have a daily tournament in a computer lab during lunch hour, and the leader would be displayed on the big screen. But that's probably a dream that won't come true, even if their computers were fast enough. Believe me, I've tried it during extra time in typing class. Didn't work on the lowest detail.

Anyway, is the picture you get from it high quality enough? It looks a bit grainy or something...

When I was at school we once ran a charity gaming event. We had BZFlag and Halo running on the 30ft screen in the Lecture Theatre. It was a bit too big though... easier to play on a small screen.

even though i did get a pair of special red/blue glasses, i did not get that 3D effect (possibly because my "red" was slightly different from BZFag's "red")

I've done that myself many times before. It's pretty cool, and the colours aren't distorted as much as you'd think. Or maybe it's just because I'm so used to the grass texture being green, boxes being red, etc.

Anaglyph is awesome if you have the right glasses.
Just search the web for "Free 3d glasses", you send them a stamped, self-addressed envelope. they send you the spectacles.
try to find one that specifys the glasses are for anaglyph viewing.
Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.

Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.

It seems you can do it in Compiz.

Wow had no idea about the anaglyph, even as a word. Will get goggles.
