@SammyTin: Welcome to the game! I recommend getting into GU League if you can, that's where all the action is at 
Oh and don't take offence to this, but "The Broker" that you mentioned is a horrible book. Out of all the books I've read, and I've read a lot, that was one of the select few I didn't finish. Read "A Time to Kill" by the same author - it's far better. --Just an opinion
