Running a bz server on paran0id.mine.nu (port 5577). Just a little box I have in my closet, however it's on 10Mbit fiber so it should be healthy. My closet is located in Sweden so European players might get the best preformance.

Some short info:
Map: Two Fortresses (light version)
Type: Free-for-all
Max players: 20 (5 for each of the teams and no rogues)
Max flags: 80
Max shots: 10
Max idle: 120s
Max lag: 5000ms (autokick after 4 warnings)
Bad flag: 5s
Admin: Me n0id! :|
----------------

As for rules, I don't really have any except that I won't tolerate any cheating, teamkilling, or mean people!

For more info just check out:

...oh and by the way, I'm moving in a few weeks so the server will be down for a while till I've sorted everything out with my new ISP, but untill then, have fun with it!

Nice to see another server running...but 5000ms for lag, after 1000ms the people complain :).
If you have 10Mbit fiber you can change to 1000ms and see what happen.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Wasn't really sure what to put there since it's kind of hard to know what people (read: connections) will turn up once the server's been running for a while.

Normally the setup for max lag is around 500ms for FFA and I think if is correct 200ms for CTF.
Try and see (in the log or in the report file) the people complain with 1000ms (my idea ..too high) change to 500ms (you have 10 shots) if you are going to change the shoits to 5 or less is better less lag around 300ms.
Can you tell us if you are running the new bzflag 1.10.2 server or the old 1.7g2 and if your server running 24/7.
Thank you

Heh...

Think I prolly added one zero too much from the start.

Anyway, the lagtime is now set to 500ms, and yes the server will be online 24/7. As for the version though, I'm currently running 1.10.0 (not *.2) since that's the latest version in the FreeBSD port collection. Guess I could compile and install 1.10.2 manually but I'd rather wait for the updated port since skipping various patches might prove a little risky.

Hi n0id,

Sounds nice, especially as I live in Sweden. ;)

Is the server supposed to be up right now? If so I haven't been able to connect to it yet using the information you provided above.

The screenshots of the maps look cool though. 8) Will come and check your server when I can get in.

Ah, sorry...
Just making sure my crontab is working correctly. Check back in 15m or so, if all goes well it'll be up 24/7 from then on.

...and yes, Sweden r0xx0rz, free "knackebrod" for all!

And We'll be happy if you can send to us the Ips number of the cheaters.
Have fun.

24 ms lag. Very nice.

1.10.0 is buggy though, it might be worth it to upgrade to a newer version.

Yah, I'll try keeping the server as updated as possible. X11 whent fark fark on my workstation during the night tho so I'll have my hands full sorting that out for a while now. Maybe it'll give those BSD freaks time enough to update the port of bzflag tho. As I stated somewhere above, I really like sticking with the ports where possible.

Anyway, glad you liked the server!

Server will be taken down tomorrow (16-01-2004), and wont be up again till I get a new ISP. I'll post a new message here when that's sorted out.
