What happened to bzflag.org!?

Post by Daddo »

It was down a lot in the last 24 hours. Just seemed to come back now. Do we all need to send $$'s :D or was this a planned thing. And yes - I'm so addicted to the stupid/wonderful game  I would send $$'s if there was/is a place to send them to (and I thought it would really go to supporting the development team or the bzflag.org domain).

no, it wasn't planned, and they are trying to figure out now what happened (it seemed to go down on Friday).

It's back up now, though.

There is, by the way, a way to send money (if you've a paypal account).

Go to http://sf.net/projects/bzflag , click on the 'Donations' link, and then click the amount you would like to donate.

Any amount is appreciated by the Team / Tim Riker, and it will go towards DNS costs and other associated costs.

I was talking with Tim about running a backup DNS, not taking it over entirely.

Thanks for the reminder. I'm generally very cheap but this is open source.

Plus I owe you guys for that nasty cheat client I released for 1.7g2 back in September. It had about 20 subtle cheats several not so subtle ones. If you encountered cheaters with the email field set to "another cheater", "cheater", "damn cheater", "cheating bastard", "lame cheater", "doesn't belong", "loner", "lawyer", or "politician", I'm the one to blame. I kept to the cheat servers but others undoubtably tried it elsewhere.
