No inputs upon starting BZF(Linux)

Post by cyborg »

Hi all,

Hoping someone could help me with this:

When I start BZF I get is the welcome screen and MOTD but can't use the keyboard, mouse or joystick at all. The only thing I can do is ctrl-alt F2, login and kill the process.

While bzf running, "top" shows normal CPU usage at approx 60%
I have a dual boot system, BZF works on windoze
-Ubuntu LTS (5.19.0-35-generic #36~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Fri Feb 17 15:17:25 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux)
Lenovo - i5-6400
NVIDIA Quadro K260

I searched and couldn't find anything that was helpful.

Thanks,

It's a known issue between the version of SDL2 and BZFlag packaged in Ubuntu 22.04. You could try using our snap instead, or compiling the latest version of BZFlag from source. If you have a launchpad account, you might try indicating that this bug also affects you: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1983751
