Tank flying away ...

Hi,

I'm trying to overcome my jumping-phobia and started to do the jumping skills tracks (beginner, easy, ... for example on bzflag.allejo.io:5165).
That's working fine, but whenever my tank gets over 500 meters (or is it feet?) it flies away as if there is no gravity anymore.
Actually it will come down again, but only after several minutes.
I've done this on the beginner and easy server and the problem is on both.
So, this is unplayable for me. Others apparently don't have this problem.
So what's wrong with my tank?
Any ideas what I can try?

What is your OS? What version of BZFlag are you using? What FPS are you getting? Do you have any screenshots with said "flying"?

A general overview of your configs would be helpful. (Energy saver enabled/disabled, FPS settings.)

Jumping varies quite a bit on FPS levels. So this may be one of the more unusual cases of another abnormal bug. (GM keeps lock on location after player leaves, teleporter differs on game client version, for instance vary on game client version)

As per in-map testing with @mudfreak and @GEP, it seems the issue is caused by the fpsLimit. Setting it to 500 or lower helped, it was the initial value of 600 that was troublesome. Some discussion on a similar issue from 2017 for reference.

I tend to recommend setting the FPS Limit somewhere between 120 or 200, or setting the Energy Saver mode to Vertical Sync instead of FPS Limit.
