In short: How do attachment limits vary?
Context: In a reply to a thread, total attachments were limited to 2MB overall. It is indicated to be possible according to Attachments to upload 4 attachments, per each attachment up to a max of 2MB. So how I understand it is, 4 * 2MB for a max total of 8MB, but how it worked was each attachment was counted toward the max filesize.

Unknowm but it seems updated, as it now says
Maximum filesize per attachment: 2 MiB.
