20th ANNIVERSARY 1vs1 LEAGUE

Hello bzflag community
July is the 20th Anniversary of the 1 vs 1 League.

To celebrate the occasion a tourney is in the works.

Tentative dates: (we are working on contest access for servers)

Registration: June 24 - July 5
First Round: 3 weeks July 8 - July 28th
Quarter, semi and finals: 2 weeks July 29 - Aug 11th.
Maps: classic ducati, dupimini, fancy ducati and hix. Regarding map choice: If there is no agreement between both players, classic ducati style has to be choosen.
Rumor has it that there are prizes

Yet to be added are the servers for fancy ducati. That will be forth coming soon.

Trust me writing the code (after a 10 yrs hiatus) was no fun. Muddy is right, won't happen again for a LONG time.

• brackets completed with your nick assigned to a group.
• Please note the Rules. This post is a brief overview.
• Preliminary round each player competes in 2 matched against ech opponent within their group
• The Tourney match command is /ovso match contest. ONLY THIS COMMAND registers your match results for the tourney
• Each victory earns 3 points, while each defeat grants 1 point. If players unable to schedule a match, they will not receive any points.
• You can use this link: http://bzstats.strayer.de/players/?/lan ... battlezone to find players online or send mates a forum pm to schedule a common time.
• official servers for the Tourney are listed on the Tourney site.
• The 2 players with the highest scores advance to the 8th-finals

Dear BzFlag 1vs1 Community,

The 20th Anniversary Tourney came to an end on Aug 17 with the final match being played between ducatiwannabe and moroni.

• 1st place: Moroni
• 2nd place: ducatiwannabe
• 3rd place: Gaboot

If they are amenable, they can post pictures of their prizes, so you can see that they do exist
40 players registered in all and I want to thank each and everyone of you who participated. It was so exciting to have Zongo join in!!!
Some of you were new to the 1vs1 League and I sincerely hope you continue to play. It helps your dodging & rico skills.

I cannot thank catay and strayer enough for all their help, support and (especially) their patience with me as I navigated github
