Again my question: Will the new bzflag require better hardware than 1.10.8?

ice driving
does ice skating (ice driving) also come?
scorch: the reflective effect is generated using
"/set _mirror black", and it only applies to ground level
at the moment. There is also a waterLevel map feature,
but that is not reflective (although you can have moving
water). this is separate from the rain effect, although it
does use the same puddle texture.
oblomov: the tanks puddles effect isn't even in CVS yet
saturos: no, you will not need better hardware. many of
the new features are configurable (as example, the rain
effect is only available in experimetnal quality mode), and
the rest of them are driven by the maps. not unlike the current
situation, if the map is too complex for your particular setup,
then you will not be able to play it comfortably. that having
being said, a lot of work has gone into speeding up bzflag
in general (culling, vertex lists, collision detection). Most of
the current maps will actually run faster in the 1.11.x series.
