a /quit command?

Post by RPG »

I've heard that BZflag is trying to incorporate IRC commands in the newer versions. First was the /me command. Then I saw somebody leave, and right when he did, it said:
[SERVER->] CALLSIGN has quit MESSAGE
And he was already gone, so I couldn't ask how that happened. I tried /quit, /leave, and /away but none of them worked. Can somebody tell me how he did this?

I was thinking about this the other day... and why is it /part and not /quit or /away or /leave?

/part is used to leave a channel in IRC, why it was choosen for bzflag I don't know.

/quit would be more accurate as it disconnects from a server in IRC, /exit shuts down the client and also would be a reasonable choice.

It's not a patch for the current version (at least not at the moment), it's built into the CVS version, aka 1.11.28
