This b9 build works pretty good for me.
I ran a test with -d -d flags on and saw this note about images missing:
Image not found or unloadable: smoke
Image not found or unloadable: smoke
Image not found or unloadable: mountain4
Image not found or unloadable: explode3
Terminal session text file attached.
Thanks for doing a Mac build - I look forward to your future efforts!

The code to load mountain* and explode* just starts at 1 and keeps going until it fails to load something, those messags are normal. If you wanted more detail on the mountains, for instance, you could stick 8 mountain images in instead of 3.
The smoke texture has never actually been in bzflag, although the code that references it was added in 2.0.0, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to be used .

Works for me
Seems to be working fine for me - 10.4.2
But - still can't message a specific person - i use keyboard as main movement. I can bring up message - but it doesn't let me navigate to another person.

Re: Works for me
If you move the pointer (by moving the mouse or touching the trackpad) it will switch to "mouse movement" - you can then use the left-right arrow keys to select a target for your message. (and the up-down arrows to select message history)jinx wrote:But - still can't message a specific person - i use keyboard as main movement. client and server are working just fine ::: except some texturing problems ::: see 2nd post ::::

Yeah, well there in lies the rub. I don't want moving my mouse to effect the tank movement, so it is set for keyboard only.a temporal distraction wrote:If you move the pointer (by moving the mouse or touching the trackpad) it will switch to "mouse movement" - you can then use the left-right arrow keys to select a target for your message. Seems to me when it's at that setting the arrow keys should still function for selecting another player for a message...

10.3.9
I tried Jeff's DMG under OSX 10.3.9
Still nada.zilch. the file won't open.
CVS chokes on the c-ares library. Says it's using internal c-ares library, gives a warning (not an error) to update the system level c-ares files.
Updating those files had no effect.
It could be all my mistakes though, as I'm new to CVS.
Couldn't get the client going, but....
I was able to run a server for a short while... it seemed OK.

Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.

whoa/ i like the effects (especially the "rings" spawn effect). a few bugs -
i'm running Mac OS 10.4 tiger, on a Power Mac G4 dual 1GHz Tower
bzflag won't start if you just double click the app it just unexpectedly quits on starup. it will only work if you run the unix executable inside the package.
secondly, in observer, when following tanks, if the tank you are following is on top of a building, it can look like it is just underneath the roof texture of a box. a bit wierd. i ca get a screenie if you want
and also, when looking through the data files i saw there are some new sounds (spree 1, 2 ,3 & 4). what are these sounds for. they are very cool.

I found a way for you 2.0.2 users that cant get 2.0.3. First: Delete your contents in 2.0.2 EXCEPT for bzflag in macOS. Next: Drag everything from 2.0.3 into 2.0.2 EXCEPT for bzflag in macOS. Now start up 2.0.2 and it should have some, but not all of the features of 2.0.3. Wait, 1 more thing: After your switch is complete, go into the 2.0.2 Resourses, find bzflag, and trash it. NOW you can play it. I call this "2.0.2 and a half."
No multi hunt on this beta build?
Good job on all aspects of this build (I especially like the shot reload meter). One thing I dont' understand is why the multi hunt feature was removed. Was this a feature in the first place, or just an error that allowed it. Either way, I don't think it should have been removed.

Well, I would call it more of a feature. Better yet, there should be a special appointment of keys to do a multi-hunts.Sharpshooter wrote:I heard that the multiple hunt feature was a bug, and apparently fixed in the release.
