and for the love of Pete, when you join it, don't say hello and just leave when somone dosn't get right back to you. It's not like everyone in there is waiting just for you to speak.

hang out
chill
wait a bit and see what happens.

About this chatroom- When i click the button, it says "loading...." and I wait for like 10 minutes, so then i reloaded the page, then says "Access Denied: Too many connections". I tried it on the other browser i have, but still does the same. And it does this every day i click it.

i think it would be neet if the chat room link opened up in its own new window automatically...so it would at least be more like a faux IM chat box ;)

that way peeple can browse the forums an lurk in the chat room easier ;)

(if this is possible ..an without much difficulties . i hope doesn't cause the "too many connections" problem?)

i know we could just manually open up a new window on our own , but this would be a nice touch ;)

No, internal links shouldn't pop up new windows. (nor external links, but at least that make more sense). Let the user decide if s/he wants new windows/tab.

Press and hold shift down (I think thats also works for IE) while clicking on the link or right-click and select "open in new window". Voilá, now you can browse the forums while chatting.
I don't need huge pictures here.

I remember we spent 2 hours talking about random news I found on this strange site.

Not to mention the 10 hours it took Jeff to teach me to run a server.

Well... if you go #bzflag, there are a few bots that you can feed! Just don't do it too much, or when JeffM2501 is on. #botpark is for that. ;)

TheLastSpartan is a bot, and is in the channel. It is doing match reporting. It can be used for a lot more.

CGI:IRC and some browsers

Post by learner »

If you have trouble getting in to the "Chat Room" or if things don't quite seem to be working correctly, your best bet is to try a different browser. Some browsers will specifically not work with the CGI:IRC interface that the web-based chat interface uses (e.g. certain versions of Netscape, old versions of IE, and Safari). So again, in short, try a different browser if it doesn't seem to be working for you. e.g. Firefox should work regardless of the platform.

Cheers!
