ChatChannel v1.1

Post by [dmp] »

Author:

Description:
The plugin allowes players to create "chat channels" and joining them. This is very basic and hackish, but it works without any clientmodifications. The idea is that eg. people from a CTF team, such as BAR can speak "privately" dispirte of which team they joined (red, blue, observer etc). I've got a few ideas on how to enchange this, but Im not sure if anyone but me finds this plugin useful. One of the aims with it was to try the BZFS api

Min Version:
bzfs v2.0.3 (CVS) [tested with bzAPI v8 and v9]

Changes since v1.0
- added /public, /channel version
- JeffM2501 fixed: ChatChannel.vcproj, ChatChannel.sln (Thanks)
- added /channel invite
- Admins can always join locked channels

This is a very excellent and worthy plugin. However, it is busted with the current CVS. I know astable release is coming soon - any chance of getting this one updated?

Here is a new one. For some reason I couldnt attach it to this post, so you can get it from:

http://dennis.moellegaard.dk/projects/B ... bin.tar.gz

It only contains the linux binary, as no code changes was necessary.

By busted, I meant that the plugin loads, the terminal output tells me its loaded... /channel gives you all sorts of nice info... but teh actual use and functionality of it is not working. It "works" but not %100. Its currently in use at Planet MoFo is anyone wants to go give it a try and see if I'm wrong.

If someone compiles it for windows, it should work fine. Read the ReadMe.txt for info on how it works.

I got this working on the latest BZFS (2.0.9 CVS) with some Makefile editing, but I encountered some problems. /channel invite seems broken (complains the user doesn't exit) and the actual channel chatting doesn't work.

Do you have any plans to fix it up or add more features? I really like the idea of this plugin in use. :)

(yes, I know this topic is old... but it deserves to be put here considering it is a plugin post)
