Is the top picture from BZFlag? I like the idea, though.

I never make stupid mistakes. Only very, very clever ones.
It is not the fall that kills you. It's the sudden stop at the end.
Always remember you are unique. Just like everybody else.

I'm going to assume that you spotted the 'noGUI'
aspect of the screenshot and not the more important
diff =)

'noGUI' (lack of targetbox, etc...) is in the 2.0.5 code,
the other difference is not.

I meant I liked the colorblind idea. Sorry if I wasn't particularly clear.

Since the top one doesn't have a radar, or text box, or roaming, I'm going to assume that it was made in Wings3D, or Blender, or some other 3D program.

NOTE: The top picture doesn't have "Roaming" or the Time on it.

When will you tell us? Oh when will you tell?

Both pictures are screenshots from a bzflag client. The top
picture has the radar, console, and gui rendering disabled
(which any current CVS client can do), but that's not the diff
I'm looking for.

OH! OH! OH! Pick me! Is it that the top one has shadows?

not just shadows, but real shaddows. ones that intersect from one object to another. Notice how the large overlaping box casts a shadown on the box under it.

I don't think they pay enough attention trepan ;)

I guess I was just so used to seeing it that way, I just forgot about it. Now, if trepan had posted two pictures of the same map, one with shadows, and one without, I'm sure we would have guessed the right answer by now.

Usually i dont use shadow because it doesnt look that good... is it like that in 2.0.5b4 or is this a future release?

Awww... you beat me to it!
I have an advantage in that I eavesdropped in on some IRC chats about shadows :)

Out of curiosity, what name do you have for those shadows? They are most likely not stencil, but they don't look like dark-mapping either, so I don't know what they are. /me is learning openGL and slurps up any information he can get...

P.S. I love the new flags :D
