Ideas for matches.

Post by brad2901 »

1) Would it be possible for the /countdown pause command to actually pause tanks? There have been some problems in matches where people do not see that the game has been paused, so if everyone was unable to move it would solve the problem, right?

2) If someone joins the CTF game during when a countdown is in progress (lag kick, client crash, sub, etc.), could they not spawn on base, and instead be placed randomly on the map. This would prevent people complaining if they are shot if they are on the enemy base and someone joins the game.

I hope you understand what I'm saying, comment/suggestions welcome. :)

something tells me those would require some work to be made real..possibly as plugins?
Games don't make people violent, lag does.

then why not just make the plugin set the _tankSpeed to 0?

Also, they can't be allowed to shoot/turn.

that works

tanksSpeed 0, that works..
but
shotSpeed 0, this can cause problems with reload taking forever, when you raise shotSpeed back up
maybe making reloadTime 100,000 or something would work
Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.

Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.

this could just be used in general. prehaps admins could 'force pause' people. have a command like /freeze or something, and thier tank gets the grey dome around it, and they go into observer mode or something for a cirtain ammount of time. it could be a form of control under /kick.
and it could also be used to pause at the start of matches.
