turn off/on

Post by SGI »

For all developers
Thank you apprecciate a lot your work

I don't want read the bad comments from others players.

We can have "please" a command to turn off/on the message from others tank or keep "on" only from a friendly tank.

SILENCE xxx

Post by MrApathyCream »

Yes this command is in there.

Just send a message with the contents being

SILENCE playername

and that player's messages will not show up in your console.
(BTW) SILENCE must be uppercase

Can't be too careful! LoL. I'd hate to "silence" someone and then not know how to undo it! Hehe. There are a few people that I may silence permanently.... err uhh.. that sounds bad! LoL.

Oops...forgot to update this in the Server Commands guide. Done now, SILENCE and UNSILENCE added to http://www.shellshock.dutchrai.com/refe ... srvcmd.htm

Sorry about overlooking this.

Technically, this is a client only solution. I haven't really used it yet,but if I am not mistaken, it is just SILENCE, without the leading / used for server commands. The client will not send any message to the server.

Thanks for clearing that up Chestal, have removed the /.
Left the commands in the 'Server Command' reference though, since I guess that is where people will expect to find commands to be typed in the chat window

Changed my mind already. Just added a new reference (very small) with just the Client Commands (CLIENTQUERY, SILENCE and UNSILENCE).

I tried the SILENCE command on a player and it didn't work. Do you have to be on the g0 client to use it??? And also, if say I want to silence Larry... I would put "SILENCE Larry"... right? Just wondering! :) Thanks.

The SILENCE and UNSILENCE commands have been introduced in 1.7g0.

If you use it, do something like SILENCE Spoogebob
