chat died

I can type but i can't see what anyone (including me) types. I got kicked once it said "server disconnected" as if the server died but i think it was a lag kick and i couldnt see the thing that said u got kicked! i did /part and it did the same thing with no message!

If it said "server disconnected" it's probably a known Windows server bug when there are too many connections (either flags or players). I've seen this myself, if you say anything you do not see what you say and you cannot see anyone else's chat. The second time you say something (or do anything else) you get a "server disconnected."

Can you spawn? Because if it is this bug you can't spawn either.

he says he can't see the text, he can join and play. it's not a win bug, he says it's a lag kick or something, but he can't se what it is...

But he just said it told him "server disconnected." Meaning he can see SOMETHING.

killing conf did zip. I re cvs/compiled bz and now it works... wonder why? also before and after those in windowed mode mouse movemnts for forward and back are reversed but turn is fine

Did you have the console up (via W)? That's another simple thing

BTW, even if you don't have the console up, chat messages will appear on the top of the screen.

Maybe, you used the PgUp and PgDown Keys to scroll in the Chat/Event History and you didn't scroll back.

Make sure, you're in the right tab, you can change with Shift + F1 -F4

Listen to me please; I RECIEVED NO MESSAGES!!! in any form. my server did but my client on the right tab in the right scroll place saw no messages... its fixed now but i'd like you to understand that.
