Portable BZFlag

Post by TD-Linux »

Envious of Portable Firefox, I decided to put Portable BZFlag on my usb stick. The problem is, I can't seem to change the path where the config and cache files are stored - which is My Documents by default. How shall I fix?

I just installed BZflag on my USB and let it save to the computer. And I think you have to edit the source or something like that.

Use -directory for where the textures/fonts are located and -configdir is the location of the configuration file's folder, no idea if this is the cache too... (I don't see any cache option, though)

cache will go into the config dir.

you need the current 2.0.5 to have configdir work. and if your on windows you don't need -directory, the game knows how to find it's data dir if it's in the same place as the exe.

Don't expect it to work though. I'm not sure if all of the quirks were actually ever fixed. So it might still try to store files on the local system instead of on the USB drive even though you tell it to. (Or it won't save files properly at all)
