Desktop Revision 1
Attached is Revision 1 of 'Desktop' and a few screenshots. It is up and running at louman.bzflag.bz:2805.
A few notes:
1) There are 34 textures for a grand total of 1.61 MB for the map; the initial join time may be delayed a bit, but should be relatively fast thereafter.
2) The map is best played/viewed with video set to 32 bits. See BZFLag menus as follows to change (if available for your video card): Options -> Display Settings -> Change Video Format.
3) If you jump on eraser(s) at a slow speed, it will bounce you to the top of the speaker(s).
4) The hot coffee and the burning cigarette will kill you if you touch them.
5) I will not be opening the map up to the rest of the room - gameplay will only be allowed on the desktop. To conserve mesh sizes (and thereby help keep video rate up), many of the objects in the room are one-sided.
6) The clock hands move accurately (as close as I could get them), but the clock does not reflect the real time of day.
7) The teleporters under the shelves will bring you up to first shelf. If you drive back in to the teleporter from there, it will take you to the second (highest) shelf.
8) There are 20 wings flags with a 20 jump count limit, the rest of the flags are normal good flags. There are no 'bad' flags in the map.
As the inevitable revisions roll in, I will update the attached map file. The map was only out for a day and we are already on Revision 1 ;)
Enjoy,
LouMan

I played there and - visually (and playability) - it was stunning! It's quite addictive when you have to get stuff done, heh.
Great job, LouMan!
P.S.: Even roaming outside the "desktop" is fun, it looks so real.

Seriously, Lou.
Add a LouMan that shoots lasers out of his eyes.
And uses the mouse, steamrolling every tank there.
And types "OWNED!", steamrolling even more tanks.
Then he plays music and all the tanks near the speakers explode.
Then he reaches for his wireless net box and yet more tanks die.
Then he drinks from his coffee cup and smokes a bit.
He reaches for a pencil and uses it to poke tanks randomly.
Woohoo, the ultimate map!

HAHA TheMe97! (chnage your name to that) Anyway, great map! Maybe make the wings not have a "momentum" like movement and it would be perfect! Also, maybe you should make a drawer opened or two with stuff in it! That would be awesome!

I have played this map and it is awesome!! Feel free to add a screenshot to the Wikipedia page with a caption to show off how complex BZFlag maps can be.
Nonetheless, an awesome map and thank you for the time and effort to make it! I appreciate your work very much and is iconic of how nice maps can be!

I ventured there yesterday, and I was completely overwhelmed with the whole experience. Especially in observer mode, watching all the itty bitty tanks shoot at each other on the computer desk. The quality of the 3-D models is outstanding, and I can tell you put in a lot of work. Is this what you do for a living? If not, it should be. Do you contribute to the artwork in BZFlag itself? If not, you should. Keep up the good work, louman.
