BZFlag beta build 2.0.7b2

Post by JeffM »

Today we have 2.0.7b2.

Windows installer, source tarballs, and debian packages (i386, and AMD64) can be found at
http://beta.bzflag.bz/builds/2.0.7/

2.0.7 contains ONLY a few small fixes for bugs that were found in 2.0.6. Like the spawning issue, and a problem with libCURL. it has NO ( zero, zip, nada, none, squat ) new features. This will be released as an oficial 2.0.8 soon, but it's good to get some people testing it first.

please let us know if you have any problems.

I would REALY like to know if any debian AMD 64 users have the "shots go thru players" problem with this debian package.

Thanks.

Jeff beleives that is router-related. As soon as I disconnected my D-Link router I didn't have that problem.

Yea, I've talked with him, and we're planning on trying to fix it.

there is nothing we can do in the code to fix it ( at least not for this release). the problem is your router. you missed all the testing and trying to fix it.

Since this a bug fix only, I don't experience any change.
(exept that I have better confidence with it running without crashing :D )
I'm thinking I need a better sig than this...

This version does what it can to prevent the physsics sim from doing that when you take a screen shot ( it sends you into a "mini-pause" to stop you from moving when the screeny is saving.

the core problem ( large lag spikes on the client make the wall detection go wacky). we can't fix till 2.2 because it would be incompatable with old clients. It is going to require changes to the entire physics simulation system.
